Phillip Island Beach House

This renovation, alterations and additions of an existing 40 year old two storey beach house involves the addition of a sundeck to take advantage of beautiful views of Port Phillip Bay, new contemporary living spaces and the renovation of the remaining parts of the existing beach house.

Lisa Elliott Interior Design was engaged to oversee this project from conception to completion.

The new works boast a beautiful amount of light filled spaces, and sensitivity to the existing home.   Opportunities are being considered to capture views of the bay, installing new bi-folding doors to connect the living areas & master bedroom with the new outdoor living space.

The interior plays with a mix of casual and honest textures, with finishes selected to emphasise the get-away-from-it-all atmosphere, with a consideration of the day to day practicalities of a family beach-side home.

Having designed my client’s Melbourne home, I had already established a familiarity with their likes and dislikes; feature mosaic tiles were used in the bathroom and kitchens pared with natural timber-look vinyl, marble-like quartz bench tops and neutral white wall tiles.

Once the layout, conceptual design and finishes were decided upon, 3-dimensional views were created to fine-tune the design, to help the Home Owner visualise the design. Once the design is finalised, full construction drawings are developed from the 3-dimensional model.
